Post  Mrs. Sullivan Thu Oct 23, 2008 1:18 am

I purchased a cheap Halloween costume felt top hat at Value Village recently and decided to fancy it up. I re-covered the hat in some shiny black jacquard fabric I had at home, and added black satin ribbon to cover the seams. I put a Velcro stick-on tab on the side of the hatband, and made two different decorations to accent the hat that stay on with a Velcro tab, so I can change the look.

Here is the hat with a peacock feather spray, with copper chiffon ribbon and brass button accent -

Here is another pic of the same hat with a more sedate black flower spray-

Spoiler:

And another picture of the hat from the front -

Spoiler:

This is a full size hat, and quite dwarfed my model, Cecil!
It is the same hat I am wearing in my avatar photo.

And what a spiffing hat it is.

The idea of being able to change the decorations on either side is particularly good.
